Three strikes, you're out!

Three terrible experiences with Kulula in less than a month.

First at the end of August, my pre-paid seats on my return flight to Cape Town are \lost""; I grin and bear it. R200-odd down the drain. Last weekend; my sister visits Cape Town via return trip to Lanseria. After her return flight check-in; she fell quite ill (she is diabetic and her insulin spike stood at 29). I explained to the check-in staff; who were very helpful and directed me to the call centre for a re-booking. ER visit later; Kulula call centre informs me that I need to pay in the difference on another flight; plus penalties on the change. Insult to the first injury. It was cheaper to book another airline. Today;a family of four (also flying out of Lanseria) has two bags between them to check in. First bag: 8 kg. Second bag: 22 kg. They're refused check-in and charged R300 for the \""extra\"" 2 kg. Made to unpack their bags on the floor in front of the check-in counter"

Hello TLP76,

Thank you for your post.

Pre-paid seats are not guaranteed and the airline reserve the right to cancel or change your seat due to operational, safety or security requirements.
If the same booking class is not available, you will have to pay in the difference in airfare and also the booking change fee.
Your kulula flight entitles you to one free checked bag weighing up to 20kg and one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7kg plus a slimline laptop bag or small handbag. If a bag is shared between two or more travellers, it must still conform to the 20kg limit per bag.

Regards.

David

Best regards,
