Theft of items
On Friday, 05 February I boarded a flight from O.R. Tambo to East London. The flight was at 9:30 am, I arrived at the airport at 07:45am and checked my suitcase at 08:00 am. Prior to the suitcase drop off, I used a cable tie to lock my suitcase as I did not have a padlock. We landed at 11:00 am in East London, as soon as I collected my bag from the luggage carousel I discovered that the cable tie was no longer securing the suitcase. I then opened my suitcase while still at the airport and realised that my toiletry bag had been opened. I continue to search through the suitcase and discovered that a bottle of perfume was missing from my luggage. I reported this incident at the kulula.com desk and the lady filled in a form and asked mr to hand her my ID and boarding pass. She advised me that the airline would contact me with a reference number for the claim, two days later I received a reference number for the incident from the airline. That was the last communication I received from them. I have been travelling with this airline for years and have never encountered an incident of this nature. I'm truly disappointed by the theft which occurred under their watch and their poor customer service in handling the matter.
