The time Kulula discriminated against my mentally disabled sister

I am reaching out to all my friends and family to try and make this as public as possible:

KULULA showed their true colours as being a ********** and disgusting airlines by refusing to allow my sister Naseema, who is mentally disabled, to get on our flight. The supposed justification for this is the fact that my late mother did not change her name from Naazneen Edwards on her ID to Naseema Edwards, which is the name registered on our discovery account linked to their airlines. Even though they could see it was the same person and the ID numbers matched, they would rather have us leave her at the airport by herself or find new flights for all of us. Eventually after pleading with them to understand our situation they forced us to then buy a whole new ticket for the exact same seat and flight she would have been on, which was over R1 000.
They showed no compassion or understanding that a mentally disabled person who's only natural caregiver has passed on is unable to help the fact that her name was not formally changed on her ID. My Dad and I have tried to in the past but lack the documentation and authority to do so.

This is a classic case of completely exploiting a person for their own disabilities and is utterly disgusting.

I truly hope you will share this story as wide as possible as I refuse to be taken advantage of by pathetic bureaucratic companies that don't care about their customers and only seek to score as much money as they can out of them.
How can they be allowed to treat a disabled person in this manner?

I truly pity people who cannot look past their "jobs" to help a person in need, and would rather take advantage of that person in order to please their higher ups.

Perhaps it is our fault that the name on their system was slightly different to the name on her ID. If we had not used the discovery vitality discount I could have easily changed the name on their system to the one on her ID, but instead of just getting us to remove the discount and pay for it we were instead forced to buy a whole new ticket.
