Staff wouldn't let my boyfriend board his flight 30 minutes before flight departure.

My boyfriend arrived at the airport 45 minutes before flight departure. Self-service check in was not working so he went to check-in at the counter which it was now 18:50, they did not want to grant him a boarding pass as they said he was late (which he was not!). Staff sent him to ticket sales to purchase a flight for R1250 which was departing 30 minutes after his already paid for flight. When he left Cape Town for JHB he arrived 30 minutes before boarding time and there were no issues. Obviously O.R Tambo are known for it's staff and it's bad service and need to up their game as that flight was still boarding for the next 25 minutes!
