On 7 Dec I cancelled a flight I had booked with Kulula scheduled for the afternoon of 10 Dec. I was told by the call center agent that I'd receive a refund and should wait for someone to contact me. Finally on 27 Dec 17 I received an email saying my request for a refund has been assigned to an agent; which was followed up by another on 28 Dec 17 saying that the refund was approved to the value of R1732.77 and I would receive the funds in 5 - 7 working days in the same bank account I had paid for the flight. After said days had passed and I still hadn't received the refund, I emailed on 9 Jan 18, to inquire and I received no response. On 11 Jan 18 I phoned the call centre and was told that there was an error in processing my payment, and they would reprocess. The lady phoned me and asked for the card no to make the payment. I then received a confirmation email saying the refund would be processed, but the value had suddenly dropped from R1732.77 to R471.91. When I asked why, I was told that the lady who did the original confirmation made a mistake as she was disturbed by a call and ended up punching the callers values into my authorization. This is completely unacceptable. I was told I'm getting R1732.77 and that's what I'm expecting. If there was an administrative error, Kulula/Comair should deal with that internally but refund me the amount originally told. Just like in a shop when an item is priced incorrectly, the shopper pays the price shown regardless if the value of the item is higher when scanned; same principle should apply here.
