READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR CHILD ON KULULA!!!!

Today Kulula overbooked the 13:00 flight from Durban to Lanseria and informed me that my 14 year old son cannot board his flight (due to their neglect). He has to stay behind on the airport for 3hours to catch the next flight, while the group of boys he is traveling with are all boarding the 13:00 flight - leaving him behind alone. They have chosen to allow adults on the filght and allowed for a minor child to stay behind. ALONE!

This means that he is missing his carefully and responsibily planned transport home on this side (traveling from Lanseria to Pretoria with his co-scholar's responsible father). And then they think they do me a favour and tell me I dont have to worry about this as they will transport him home!! HUH??? Who are they to tell me whom my child will go on the road with. This is if he does not get kidnapped on the airport while sitting there for 3 hours. Have they got a signed and accepted disclaimer from me, his parent, to transport him? NO ABSOLUTELY NOT!

If you have 198 seats how do you book 199 pasengers to begin with? Opportunitistic money-making at the cost of a childs safety!!

And needless to say that the person I speak with is not a parent and does not begin to understand the responsibility of being a parent.

I am reporting this to child wellfare to investigate Kulula and how they see to the safety of children as well. Also to all relevant parties involved in the licensing and professional governing body for air transport and relevant authorities.

This is the worst service ever by a flight company. It is absolutely shocking how low they value the safety of the child-clients/travellers. As long as they get the money even if it means selling seats that does not exist on the aircrafts.

I do not want free vouchers, free meals or any kind of bribe. I want to know that when I book my child on a flight that his/her safety will be priority.

Yes, anyone can make a mistake but how you handle and resolve it is what counts. And then they are telling me at 13:00 they are asking the passengers who will voluntarily get of the plane and in the same breath tell me that plane has left. So they blatantly lie to me - an already histerically concerned and worried parent.

An adult should have been taken of the flight (not asked whom will get off the plane voluntarily - would you have gotten of the flight voluntarily? ) and a minor child should have been given preference. But they do not have the guts to face an adult and pick a soft-target like a descent and well-brought-up child to intimidate and tell the bad news to.

Conlusion: Kulula does not give a damn!!
