Not impressed with the check-in service

The Kulula brand prides itself on fun, happy and putting the client first. Well, that's what I thought until today. My experience this morning at 07:40 was the complete opposite while trying to check in at Cape Town International Airport. Standard check-in only had one person allocated. A friend of my was in the queue for SAFAIR, three times longer and was processed 15 minutes before I managed to get checked-in. I mentioned the issue to a staff member that was standing near the one and only check-in counter. Dismissively I was told that the staff was busy followed by a list of other excuses, followed by, she is also opening a second check-in counter. And with a huff, she told me I could talk to the supervisor that had also suddenly shown up. Well, the supervisor, Faaiq, also dismissively rattled off a list of other excuses and again I was told the staff was busy. No apology, no tackling the backlog of people that needed to be checked in, no solution offered, ZERO customer service. This is not how Kulula 'frontline' staff should be handling customers and issues. I asked myself, who is doing who a favour. It was clear to me that the staff I interacted with thought the favours were on them. I will simply vote with my feet and consider other airlines before using Kulula after this experience.
