LUGGAGE THEFT - FOR THE 2ND TIME

In April a trip to East London resulted in my luggage zip being cut very carefully, so at initital glance you cannot even see your bag has been tampered with, and only noticed this at the guest house when unlocking the bag. I was in an area without signal and could not report this incident. At the airport on the return trip I reported this at the counter and was informed it was too late to report this incident, it has to be reported immediately. Talk about poor customer service and willingness to ensure customer satisfaction.
Yesterday on a trip to Cape Town, same scenario, zip cut next to the lock again and once again this cannot be noticed at initial glance. Exactly same scenario as East London, everything tossed in the bag, tioletry bag opened and everything thrown out. Gifts that were in the bag torn open and contents missing.
What on earth is going on, i cannot believe I was the only person targeted on both flights?

Hello Dawnste,

I am disappointed about the problems you experienced with your baggage on your flights with us and I am terribly sorry. We aim to transport all our customers and their belongings safely to their destination. Every effort is made to overcome this type of problem, but despite the many precautions taken any system that involves both human and mechanical interaction can be prone to failure.

I can assure you that we are not complacent, and we are doing all we can to improve security and our baggage handling services where necessary.

Customer's are advised to check their baggage upon arrival and proceed to the Baggage office if any damages or pilferages need to be reported. There is a time-frame of 7days from the date of arrival in which customers are able to report such cases. I do hope you were able to report your case to the Baggage office in Cape Town.

Although we have failed to meet your expectations on this occasion, we hope to welcome you onboard again in the near future.

Yours Sincerely
Nazley - CR
