Luggage handling at Kulula airline

On Monday January 4 2016, I travelled from East London airport via Kulula airline. When I checked in with my bag, both handles were fine and the luggage was taken in. By the time I went to collect my luggage at OR Tambo International Airport, one of the handles of the bag was broken. The bag had basically one handle left. I approached an office that deals with luggages and enquired as to how to report such a case and was told that I need to make a claim from my insurance for the airline is not responsible for any damages to the handles of any luggage.<br>

Hello nzondi,

I am very disappointed to hear about the problems you encountered with your baggage. I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused. Good service is very important to us and we aim to transport all our customers and their belongings safely to their destination. We can assure you that we are not complacent, and we are doing all we can to improve security and our baggage handling services where necessary.

However in Terms of Comair Ltd's General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage, we trust you will understand that luggage is designed to protect its contents. In the course of normal handling, your luggage may show evidence of wear and tear. The airline assumes no liability for minor cuts, scratches and dents or for items that protrude from luggage such as retractable handles, handles, wheels, straps and luggage carts.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to respond.

Yours Sincerely

Nazley - CR
