Left phone on sirplane- now gone
I flew back on a Kulula flight yesterday afternoon, Sunday 20 Dec, from Cape Town to Joburg. Ref AZZRWP, Flight number MN130.
I left my phone in my seat pocket of seat 12E. Shortly after stepping off the flight, I realised I had left the phone. I went to the baggage office and dealt with xoliswa. She called the RAM controller who said no they had not found the phone. Then Xoliswa said the flight had turned around which was just 20mins post landing and I find that hard to accept.
Also when I called my phone, it rang for at least 45minutes post being told it had left.
I understand it was my irresponsibility to have left it on the plane. However, it was a matter of minutes and absolute dishonesty to say it was not found.
I am gravely disappointed at the lack of accountability especially from the Kulula staff on the ground who could have had the authority to call the crew and get the phone who were just minutes away.

It was of great value both from a monetary and personal sentiment with all my photos and personal info on the phone.
Thank you for your post on Hellopeter. I was disappointed to hear about the problems you encountered onboard on your recent flight with us. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Good service is very important to us and we aim to transport all our customers and their belongings safely to their destination. I can assure you that we are not complacent, and we are doing all we can to improve security and our baggage handling services where necessary.
However, with the above said, we are unfortunately not liable for items left onboard. As per feedback received when you reported your phone was left onboard, the staff contacted the Ramp controller who checked onboard and did not find your phone unfortunately. This specific aircraft operated a flight departing at 16h15 that day and therefore the aircraft was being prepared for the turn around. I will check again with the baggage office to see if your phone was handed in.
thank you for allowing us this opportunity of an explanation.
Kind Regards,
Nazley - CR
