Kulula sucks!!

Kulula sucks big time!! My flight was cancelled in March due to covid. I phoned in today and asked if I can change my and my families flight to Christmas day as I want to visit family. The consultant informed me that all cancelled flights from covid are only allowed to start using it from 11 January 2021. How the hell does that make any sense??? They are currently operational. I really dont understand the logic behind this
