Kulula, not very nice!
Kulula - please help. I had return tickets booked for Friday 23 Feb 2018 and back 25 Feb 2018. On Monday 19 Feb I ended up in hospital. The dr removed my appendix. Unforseen circumstances. On Thursday 22 Feb I phoned kulula to say I can't fly the next day because I have had an operation and am booked off until 2 March 2018. Shannon who helped me was very kind and my flight was changed from the weekend to 28 March- 4 April. I did not have to pay in, since I had a dr's note and the flight was now cheaper - from over R 1500 to under R 1000. Today I received an sms concerning my flight tomorrow 28 Feb. Obviously a month too early. I spoke to Annelise who informed me that I had given them the wrong date. My phone call with Shannon was recorded on 22 Feb. Upon asking if I can also listen to the phone conversation, I was informed that I can not, it is confidential. I may or may not have said the wrong month, I don't know. Annelise listened to the phone call and I must take her word for it. I still insisted that I also have a right to listen to my own conversation with Shannon. Needless to say,I spend about 3 hours on the phone this afternoon. Then I was contacted by Natasha who informed me of the following: Indeed I may not listen to the recording and she explained that if an agent makes an error they have to pay in with their own money. At this point I realised my catch 22 situation - even though today's conversations were also recorded, I will never have the pleasure of listening to it. Natasha ALSO mentioned that since I was in hospital for an operation, Shanon should have given me a refund on 22 Feb when I phoned the first time. However, even this recording is not available as evidence. Help! Now I had to pay AGAIN to change the date of departure to 28 March. I am a teacher. I would not purposefully book a flight for tomorrow.I have children to teach. School closes on 28 March, when I want to fly to Durban for 1 week (not tomorrow for 1 month and 1 week). Now I ask respectfully - what do I do? I am not allowed to listen to my phone recording from 22 Feb or today 27 Feb. Where does that leave me as the customer? Or do I just accept my fate? Surely this is so very wrong. Natasha assured me that it is company policy to refund a customer who can't make a flight due to an operation and hospitalization. YET I may not use today's phone recording to verify anything. Am I going crazy or is something wrong here? I have been flying with Kulula about once a month for the past two years (both my father and brother were very ill) and only one time was the return flight delayed. Otherwise everything has been super with Kulula. Until today. Can someone pleas advise me what to do.
