Kulula, I would rather fly SAA, Mango and SAFAIR...Enough said
<p>I was really disappointed in my experience with Kulula airlines today. We (a family of four) missed our flight after being stuck in traffic on Friday afternoon following the widely reported shootout between police and armed ******s on the N2 in Durban (The highway was closed in Bothe directions) for a number of hours. We eventually caught a much later flight (at considerable cost) to Johannesburg. We then arrived well in time for our flight back to Durban on Sunday afternoon at OR Tambo. Only to be told that because we missed our flight up from the Durban and didn't inform the airline we now no longer appear on the flight register and have to repurchase the tickets (Which we had already paid for at the newly adjusted Sunday afternoon last minute price plus repay pay all the administrative costs associated with repurchasing tickets). After being shown the terms and conditions I accept that I agreed to these terms when purchasing the tickets in the first place. I accept that Kulula is within their rights to make me do this as I agreed to the terms and conditions when purchasing the tickets in the first place. BUT If I have purchased return tickets at a fair price, the assumption that the airline is within their rights to resell me my own tickets at a higher fee plus reload the admin fees is grossly unfair. It is unreasonable, leaves a sour taste in the mouth. I received no e-mail, sms from an airline, that knew very well that we had missed our flight and that if they had any sense of awareness had knowledge of the catastrophe on the N2 that I am sure affected many more on Friday. Your service is poor, your planes are late and your staff is unkempt and half asleep (I had to ask for a seatbelt for our infant 3 times and had to hastily strap him in while taking off whilst your attendants were sitting well strapped into theirs) I will keep my booking to Cape Town later in September and then then take an indefinite break from Kulula.
