Kulula Holidays - Taking their clients for a ride
We booked and paid for a short stay at the Lost City which had to be cancelled due to the virus pandemic. I contacted Holidays@Kulula on the Monday prior to the shutdown and the lady confirmed that Sun International had happily cancelled the booking with a full refund. She asked for my banking details to do the refund, which I provided on the same day. Bear in mind this was BEFORE the shutdown. Despite numerous calls to the company and endless emails requesting an update on my refund, I am still to get any form of response. The lady who has been tasked with the answering of the calls, tells me nobody is working! I cannot believe that all Kulula's creditors are happily waiting for their payments after nearly 2 months??? It is difficult to believe a company like Kulula does not have a work-from-home policy for admin staff.
Lets assume a conservative number of bookings in their system just prior to the lockdown, 3,000? As one has to pay within a few days, again estimate an average of R15,000.00 paid immediately to Kulula per client. Also bearing in mind that in most cases, Kulula had not paid that money over to the hotels, etc. That means they are sitting with ALL our money in their bank account, drawing massive interest!!!!!
I also see that, looking at the other posts on Hellopeter that Kulula management is extremely scarce!!!
It looks like a very innovative way of making money at the expense of other's unfortunate circumstances and borders, I fell, on a ******** act
I'm sure that when the country opens up again for business, Kulula will be the first to jump up and offer undying loyalty and dedicated service to their clients...most of whom, one hopes, will give them the middle finger.... I know I will.
