Joke of an Airline - Pathetic experience, once AGAIN
Joke of an Airline – Pathetic experience, once AGAIN On January 1, 2020 we had the absolute displeasure of travelling on Kulula again. After travelling from the 31 December 2019, all we wanted to do was go home to our own beds. We had a flight scheduled to fly from O R Tambo to King Shaka at 18h10. At 13:56, we received an SMS saying the flight is delayed till 20:05. At 16:19, we received an SMS saying the flight is delayed till 21:00. At 21:42, we received an SMS saying the flight is delayed till 21:40. We were sitting at the gate when we heard an announcement stating that flight is now boarding, however that wasn’t the case because the pilot was sitting with us who informed us that there was no plane there to board upon. We eventually boarded the plane a long while later (which was stinking to the extent that we thought the toilet had been messed). The plane only began to move at 22:47 (moving, not on the runway). We were informed by a Kulula representative that the reason for the delay was a morning flight had caught on fire causing a delay all day. I feel this is bull**** and if it were the case, we should’ve been informed of this earlier as an “emergency” of this nature is not a 30 minute delay. We could’ve made arrangements to have been somewhere else for the 4.5 hour delay. On another note, even our flight going for our holiday (20 December 2019) was delayed by 2.5 hours. As a matter of fact, every single Kulula flight we have ever been on has always been delayed. To the extent where we once paid extra to take an earlier flight due to work the next day, however the delays caused the flight to take of later than the cheaper flights and we were not reimbursed in any way. You guys are seriously a joke of an airline. Have you’ll considered buying a few Quantums and running a taxi business instead?
