How can there not be a 'cancel ticket' policy

My husband and i utterly appalued at the service that we had received. We purchased tickets from Jhb to Cape Town online from Kulula, and due to unforeseen circumstances we have to cancel our trip. You would think this would be easy!!! Well, far from it.

We were told that tickets bought 'on special' were non refundable. We at no point bought tickets on special, we simply bought them online!!! Then we found people who were willing to take over our tickets but alas, tickets can not be transferred. So we thought ok lets move the dates. But in order to do this we have to pay in R2000!!!!??? Absolute madness.

In this day and age people do not have money to simply throw away, and it seems that this is what is expected of us simply because life happens and we can no longer travel on the dates that we had booked. How can a company work with blinkers on their eyes like this and not be accommodating??!

I sincerely hope that somebody within Kulula will look into this matter and find a reasonable solution for us before Thursday. I think it is very narrow minded to not allow tickets to be cancelled, its not like airlines have a shortage of clientele.

Will never use Kalula again.

Hello VeeBugs,

Thank you for taking the time tell us about your recent experience.

There is a 100% cancellation fee to cancel a flight booking (subject to the ticket type you purchased). We do not do name changes, but we will permit name corrections in the following instances:

Spelling changes/spelling error corrections, Changes to last name due to marriage/divorce (Proof must be supp****), Changes to prefixes (Mr. ? Dr.), Changes to suffixes (add MSTR), Swapping last name and first name around. Our refunds are only processed due to hospitalisation and death (Proof must be supp****)

A payable fee would still be charged for any changes made to your reservation. In addition to having to pay a change fee for a change of reservation, you would have to pay any difference between the fare and taxes on the original flight booked and the available fare and taxes (if applicable) on the new flight requested.

Our call centre supervisor will be in touch with you directly to advise on your concerns.

Kind regards,
Thuli
