Flight Delayed
On Wednesday 2 March 2016, i was scheduled to leave on Flight 701 at 10.35am from Cape to Durban. Flight was delayed 3 hours. I understand that there was a problem with the air craft and understand that we could not board the plane. My question is, why do they never have a back up plane or on standby. I had booked a shuttle to the South Coast and then also arrange a pick up. All this was inconvenient for many who was involved.<br> This said, we were not compensated at all. eg, extra cost on a meal while waiting to board.<br> The funny thing is if we are 3 minutes late for a flight, we then have to pay for another flight?? but when the table are turned, no body pays.???!!!!!

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am truly sorry for the frustration caused due to the delay experienced on the 02 Mar '16 .
We try hard to keep to our published schedule as we understand the impact it has on our customers. Any delays to our schedule due to factors within our control are only imposed when absolutely necessary as it has a business impact on us as well. I have been advised by Operations that due to a technical glitch , MN701 was delayed by 2hrs 35mins .
I am sure that you will understand that our primary and utmost concern is for the safety of our customers and crew. We do understand the incredible inconvenience that lengthy delays may cause our customers however, we cannot be guaranteed on time departures due to the nature of this industry .
On time performance is a prime area of focus for us and we always review any disruption we have imposed and what alternatives we can use for future.
Rest assured we will look into the events that had taken place and hopefully , going forward we can implement a more streamlined process.Thank you for this opportunity of a response.
