Don't try to book your bag in if you are early
I arrived for a 2000pm flight to book in at 1645 so two hours and 15 mins before flight time and the dude told me to come back in 45 minutes as he couldn't take my bag<br> Kulula used to appreciate passengers now they just try hard to pooo them off Sorry you can't have one bag between two if it is over 20 kgs You can't have two small bags and one golf clubs even if you are under 40 kgs for two You can't have 23 in one bag and 10 in the other The leg room is terrible compared to Mango and so is their attitude to clients Boo Kulula you suck

Baggage check-in opens at least 2hours prior to departure to ensure baggage is not left unattended in the baggage hall and to avoid pilferages. We understand that this may be inconvenient however, we are merely trying to protect you, our customer.
As ticket prices have risen due to external elements we have had to find ways to keep our ticket prices reasonable in order to stop the total market of travellers from shrinking. One way has been to stop the cross subsidization, so now customers with extra baggage are the ones who pay for it. The weight is not the only issue, as the handling companies charge the airlines for every piece handled, and we also pay for the number of staff required to load the aircraft. This is one of the reasons why over the past 12 years the average Comair fare (BA + kulula) has only increased 14% while inflation has increased 98%. Our current policy imposes a fee for an additional bag which at our counters is R350 and R245 online. If any one item of baggage exceeds 20kgs, a heavy bag fee is imposed on the heavy piece.
