Damaged luggage yes, damaged luggage handles no

We flew from Cape Town Airport to Lanseria 3 days ago. with 1 suitcase which arrived undamaged. We left Lanseria yesterday morning, and when we got to Cape Town airport on of the 2 handles on the suitcase had been **********. Kulula say that they cannot be held responsible. I reminded them that I had a receipt from them shewing that there was NO damage to the case when they received it, yet they still refuse to accept responsibility. We might need the Small Claims Court to resolve this.
