Communicate with Flights are Delayed
I was booked on MN107 to depart OR Thambo for Cape Town at 17:15 yesterday. I was early and was in the front 3 of the queue at gate C13 - we were meant to board at 16:45. Around 16:48 some gate staff arrived, a teenager went to them and asked when would we start boarding - and then they started saying what gate are you at, what does the screen say - and to be honest the screen was broken - much like their attitude. I explained the screen only displayed the first half of the flights, then they told us our gate was now at C10. There had be no announcement on this. We all - the 100+ people moved gates.
When we got there the announcements on the gate changes started - but nothing on delay. The DBN flight swapped from C10 had delay announcement and was on the screens, not ours. By 17:15 not a single person had boarded and only then did they announce a 15 minute delay.
At 17:31 we finally started boarding - the screens still only showed the DBN flight as delayed. I expected to land 19:15 and eat in cape town, and had no cash - so I was really angry when I landed in Cape Town 45 minutes late - only to discover that my Samsonite bag had been broken as well. Thanks.
