CHEAP SERVICE SAA BETTER

We had to attend a scholastic dance competition which was due to take place in Cape Town 13th/14th June 2015. We purchased 2 tickets online at [URL Removed] costing R4868.88 which included my Discovery Vitality Discount. Last week we were advised that due to the exams the student dancers need not attend the competition as they had already qualified for the next event. I contacted Kulula to cancel the booking for a refund explaining the situation to the call centre rep who advised it was a non-refundable Vitality ticket. I then called yesterday in an attempt to change the dates and thought to change the name to another family member so as to not lose the ticket. I was advised the same thing by a less-than-friendly consultant & that the change would cost an additional R1026.00. I then mailed BA with our plight. no joy. I received a mail to that unless there was a death or medical reason, there would only be a R1000.00 refund. This is disgusting. My suggestion- pay more on SAA and buy a flexible ticket, you'll save more than you do on Kulula if you have a problem flying. I have used Kulula since 2004, but after this & losing all my miles years ago, will never again fly Kulula. Very sad!
