Cancelled Flights

I was due to fly between East London & Johannesburg on the 22nd of December 2015 with Kulula. I subsequently had a change in travel plans and needed to fly back on the 21st of December 2015. I have cancelled my flight with Kulula however this has resulted in my subsequently forfeiting the money that I have paid. I find this to be really unfair on your customers, furthermore that seat may be filled by someone else thus making double the amount on that seat. Please explain exactly why you will not refund me the money. Furthermore a complaint has been laid with the Consumer Commission.

Hello vishal09,

Thank you for taking the time tell us about your recent experience.

There is a 100% cancellation fee to cancel a flight booking (subject to the ticket type you purchased). We only refund due to hospitalisation and death (Proof must be supp****)

A payable fee would still be charged for any changes made to your reservation. In addition to having to pay a change fee for a change of reservation, you would have to pay any difference between the fare and taxes on the original flight booked and the available fare and taxes (if applicable) on the new flight requested.

I have escalated this matter to the call centre supervisor to contact you.

Kind regards,
