I am pretty disgusted @what transpired @Cape Town airport on 9/01/18 &disappointed by Kulula/BA’s behavior. We arrived the airport in good time &after waiting 4an eternity 4seats 2b allocated while we were @the check in counter 4no apparent reason (our bags had been checked) through were eventually told 2go2 another counter 2sort out our seats. We were told @that counter that the flight was overbooked (clearly greed & total mismanagement prevails which means that Kulula/BA will no doubt soon go down the same path as SAA) &we had to take the next one. Our bags were ceremoniously dumped @our feet. Another passenger a foreigner (who had similarly been bumped together with @least 8 other people) stated that he also was unable 2fathom how this could possibly be given that he had only booked the day before &@that stage there were 17 seats available (we booked on 29/09/17-over 3 months ago). He was flabbergasted by the proceedings &could not believe it was a BA flight. I am sure that BA UK would not approve of the fact that their brand is being harmed. How does/can this possibly happen &since when are standby passengers (if this is what the case was) put on ahead of the closing time of the counters? When I asked what if we had a connection I was asked what time it was which means that they cud have/wud have made a plan? I find this all rather suspicious &there is no doubt that there were some shenanigans carrying on. In addition we had luggage damage &were more or less told that it was unlikely that we wudb compensated. Overall a less than positive experience.
