100% Cancellation Fee/Non-Refundable
I booked a flight a few weeks ago for this weekend (JHB to Durban back to JHB). Something came up 2 weeks before so I will be unable to go on the flight.
I was pleasantly surprised when trying to cancel it that I would incur a 100% cancellation fee since my ticket is supposedly non-refundable especially given it says nothing on the online ticket about not been a non-refundable ticket.
I really do not understand why this industry operates like that, to me it is utterly ridiculous since if I cancel you can get someone else on the flight and provide a service to them vs trying to ***** someone else over. I mean are you not a provider of a service or an ************?
I was appalled to read that there are numerous people who landed in the same predicament.
I find it quite funny how you can operate with a non-refundable policy when things change in life.
Thank you for your post.
Subject to the ticket fare class or ticket type purchased, there is a 100% cancellation fee to cancel a flight booking. For future reference or an alternative as you mentioned in your post that things can change in life, is to look at the option of a flexi fare ticket.
The special flexible fares are only available through the kulula.com Contact Centre or through your travel agent.
Regards.
