Waitress training needed

Food was good but the staff need some training. I was welcomed but the young waitress gave me the menu without any words, delivered the meal without speaking. When I spoke to her, I got a smile. Halfway through the meal, when I was concentrating on my paper, she came and said OK. Perhaps it was OK? But she moved on before I even registered. If a waitress asks if a meal is OK, it should be a sentence, not just "OK?" And she should wait for an answer. A pity that poor service spoils what could be a nice experience.
