for the worst customer service, management s****s and incomptence of staff go to KU'DTA at WILSONS WHARF DURBAN!!!!

On fathers day (19/6/2016) , my husband and I and our son decided to have a nice dinner at KU'DTA at Wilsons Wharf. Little did we know that it would be one of our worst expereinces at a resturant. Our waitress THOBEKA came to serve us and we asked her what the special was. She said the fathers day special was Crayfish with prawns for R150. She confirmed three times YES it was R150, so we ordered it for our son.

50 mins later our food arrives and she asks what we want for our son. We told her that we already ordered the crayfish special?? She then tells us that the price is actually R350 and not R150. We told her that she should have at least had the decency to come tell us that BEFORE the food arrived!!!

We refused to pay R350 because we ordered the special based on the R150 she told us. We called the manager (KIREN) who did not possess much management s****s. He said that THOBEKA "heard" from another waiter that the special is R150 thats why she going around tellng everyone that price. We told him that is not our problem and emphasied to him that its not that we cannot afford the R350 ( Im an attorney and my husband is a businessman- we definetly can afford it), but its about the PRINCIPLE!!. He understood and said he would give it to us for R150 but THOBEKA would have to pay for it .

Normally we dont like the waiters to pay for anything but this time we argeed, especially since she had so much of attitude and was clearly UNAPOLGETIC.

Kiren then comes back and says after speaking to the owner (SIVEN), the best he can do is give us the special for R200!!. even if THOBEKA has to pay for it! Since when did the incomptency of staff and their mistakes become a negogiating deal where we have to pay for their mistakes????

To cut a long story short, KIREN who initially introduced himself as the 'MANAGER' now in his own words says he is just the " MESSENGER" and SIVEN does not want to budge. We asked to speak to SIVEN but he refused.

Another family at a table next to us also complained that their chicken smelt of ROTTEN FEET! To top it off, the manager wanted to take it away and give them more of the same thing!!!

After 30 mins of expressing our dissatisfaction and anger, we eventually left but promised to take the matter up further. When we left we walked into THOBEKA in the passageway and she even smirked at us!!!

I am an attorney and this dispute falls within the ambit of the CUSTOMER PROTECTION ACT. S23(6)(a) of the Act stipulates that "a supplier must not require a consumer to pay a price for any goods or services—

(a) higher than the displayed price for those goods or services.."

I am going to lodge a formal against KU'DTA with the Consumer Commission. I now dont want that meal now for R150 and will refuse to eat there again, as well as I will let everyone know about this incident. Its about the PRINCIPLE of the matter .

This place is pathetic. The staff are ***********, the management has no managment s****s whatsoever and the owner does not have the common courtesy and deceny to speak to his customers when there is a problem!! Dont ever go to KU' DTA and dont let any restaurant take advantge of you.

You have a RIGHT enshrined in law to demand the price that was falsely communicated to you!!!!
