Paid R2430, Accommodation Refused, No Refund - "Disruption" Acknowledged But No Help*
Hello, I booked accommodation at *Kruger Ranch, Magaliesburg* through *Booking.com* for *25-27 December 2025* festive season. Amount paid: *R2430*. *The Problem:* 1. After booking, I called Kruger Ranch to confirm. They said they were "fully booked" and told me to cancel. 2. I cancelled. http://Booking.com said they tried to contact the host but could not reach them. 3. The host then said he did not receive payment but told us to "come stay later". 4. We tried to check in during *June 2025* - refused due to "fully booked". 5. We tried again in *July 2025* - refused: "we cannot extend the stay like that". 6. We were left with no accommodation and lost R2430. *Booking.com's Failure:* http://Booking.com’s own app shows *"Disruption with your booking"* and "Free cancellation". Despite acknowledging a disruption, they marked the booking "completed" and have not refunded R2430. I have emailed customer service and the CEO office multiple times with no response. http://Booking.com is also blocking me from leaving a review because it’s past 28 days. *Pattern:* This is the second time this exact issue happened with Kruger Ranch. In *Sept 2021* I booked for R2200 and had the same problem. I only got a refund after a long dispute. *Resolution I am seeking:* 1. *Full refund of R2430* from http://Booking.com within 7 business days 2. *Investigation* into Kruger Ranch for taking bookings they cannot honor This is a breach of the Consumer Protection Act and http://Booking.com’s Guest Guarantee. Kruger Ranch is a no go lodge
Trust me you don't want to visit this dirt. The lodge more 15 km bad gravel from the main road. There is no electricity, no water and still the guy refused us a refund. The bed are filthy you won't even want to sit on the bed. There so called chalets are terribly built and you even struggle to drive in the lodge. Lodge is full of tall grass and untidy. There's nothing good to tell about that lodge. I don't wish anyone to ruin their vacation on this place. My valentines day was a mess I had to leave a book in Randfontein to complement my valentine. I hate that place.
