Lash disaster

I feel compelled to let all girls who do lashes know about my story… And it’s sadly not a good one.

Below is a picture of my eye with an eye infection caused by lashes done at a salon in Somerset West.

First things first: I have had my lashes done countless times. Not here though, and I am well aware of the ‘risks’ but I’ve never had this before.

After the lashes were app**** my eyes felt like they had lazers shooting through them. I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst pain, a swollen eye and my eye looked like the lazers were now beaming out of it. 👀

I would like to add that after qualifying in the health and skin care industry I am a ‘jermophobe’ and know how important hygiene is, especially lashes so I was super thorough.

A week later… Swollen eye, pain, and lazers again. So I contact the salon.

Mam we will soak them off.

So I go. I need These things goonneee!!!

Now the salon and head office are aware of my situation, eye infection confirmed by a optometrist the works.

And what do we do? Apply the lash remover, dip the syringe thingy back in the bottle and apply some more… Nee man!!

Anyway. Long story short. I now have ‘summer lashes’. Some are here and some are there. No, I lie. I hardly have any real lashes left but to the next person who has their lashes removed there I hope my eye infection doesn’t go into your eyes. (I did warn them and head office!) Maybe insist on a new bottle. They didn’t seem too phased by it 😵💫
