Kärcher Vacuum Machine stopped working after 8 months of use-terrible after sales service!!

I purchased a Karcher vacuum cleaner through Takealot on 14 March 2023. It worked perfectly for a few months when it suddenly stopped working after only 8 months (which was very disappointing as my previous Karcher vacuum machine lasted 10 years without any problems).

I lodged a complaint with Takealot, they collected the item, returned it to Karcher where it was evaluated etc.

I got feedback that the machine can be repaired at approximately R 2 000.00 or replaced at a discounted price of R1 259.00. The motor needed replacement. Purchase price R 1 299.00 Repair quote R 2 208.00 Replacement price R 1 259.00

I haven’t received any diagnosis of what could be the problem with my machine..only a quote for repairs at my cost! When I asked why this isn’t covered in my warranty I got feedback that the motor could’ve seized because of dust particles that got stuck in the motor, it was perhaps used without a dust bag or used for prolonged periods of time…basically suggesting that we neglected our machine. I on the other hand feel that we were sold a malfunctioning product or that the product simply did not live up to it’s expectation! I requested an alternative solution two days ago and still haven’t received any feedback.

I’m extremely disappointed in this product and the manner in which my complaint was handled and will surely never purchase from this company again. (My reference number with Takealot: CF- RRN-T6QOP-PME7- Karcher - WD3 1000W Vacuum Cleaner).
