2nd Hand Car Dealer - Suspicious and ********* Beh

I was in the market for a 2nd hand vehicle and responded to an advert by a private seller - Mr Jacobus (Koos) Kotze. As a sideline, he deals mainly in Landrover Discoverys. My personal experience was unpleasant so this is a potential flag for other individuals seeking to deal with Mr Kotze. I had expressed intention of purchasing a vehicle from Mr Kotze and was a cash buyer. When I requested a standard pre-assessment at a DEKRA office less than 1km from his residence, Mr Kotze became very evasive stating that was too busy (Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Mon, Tue) even though I was prepared to pay for the assessment and drop him off at this work to avoid inconvenience. He then pressured me into taking the car \as is"by claiming he was offering it to another interested purchaser instead (whom he admitted was 'next on his list'). He mentioned that a pre assessment was not part of the advert. Having previously been caught out in buying what was a ****** vehicle from another private seller"
