Kohler Motors Tokai - ****************

We recently took our car to Bosch (Kohler Motors - Tokai) and am utterly digusted by the result of the service.

We were initially told that the service would cost around R1 900. However we received a quote of over R14 000 just minutes after. Needless to say we requested that just the standard service be done, which came to about R1 500.

Here is my problem: We took the car to 2 other reputable service stations in the city and both of them said that most of the items on your quote was unnecessary and didn't need to be changed at all. Both of them also mentioned that the first thing we need to have sorted is the water pump. We know we have a problem with our water pump (it is the noisiest part of the car), but you never mentioned that it was even a concern. This is extremely worrying and we wonder how your staff can properly assess a vehicle if they could not pick up this problem, but they had no problem quoting for things that weren't necessary.

What's even more disgusting is that one of the items on your quoted list was the "Reverse switch". This morning we checked my lights and both of the reverse lights were hanging loose in the boot. We checked all of my lights on the morning of the service and the reverse lights were definitely working. Now after the service, it is no longer working. I'm not sure what you guys did but I am completely and utterly disgusted. You have in effect ****** a customer of something that was working. Who knows what else you guys broke or stole?

In a time when the cost of living for the average person is extremely high, it is really disgusting to receive such bad service and inflated prices from a supposedly reputable company. Kohler Motors Tokai has changed our opinion of Bosch as a whole. The reason we took our car there is to get a proper assessment and service from a "proper" service station. What a disappointment!

We would urge anybody even thinking of going to Kohler Motors for anything to first read the reviews on HelloPeter, something we clearly should have done. It is much better going to smaller, private company who doesn't rob or overcharge you. They also do a proper check and will tell you exactly what is a concern but not necessary!
