Embarrassment to the food industry.

Good day all,

on sunday 28-10-18 at 10:30 my wife and i decided to stop at Koffie tijd in faerie glen, located on the premises of plant land. however this is not about plant land at all but the koffie tijd.

upon arriving we had to seat ourselfs as nobody greeted us (being waiters), we then had to wave down a waiter after 15mins sitting , to get service. after placing or drinks which took 25mins to get, we then placed our breakfast order (boerie breakfast and art traditional omelette) . the two Lemonades we order was just water downed lemon juice (in a bottle). as warm as it was, we still drank it.

i then ordered a lime milkshake due to the terrible lemonade and informed the waiter of the lemonade. well the milkshake was even worse, more powered lime than milkshake.

however, at 11:20 we received our meals, which to no surprise my bacon, eggs and toast was ice cold. i even had the waiter feel my food (but being at such a young age, i dont think he even cared) as i asked for the food to be warmed. but this wasn't even done. then my wife's omelette, the whole omelette was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted . eventually i stopped eating but my wife was so starved that she continued. about 10min later the owner (elderly gentlemen) asks in general, 'was everything alright' i explained to him the issues i had and all that was said 'i do apologise' and left as i requested the bill. expecting to have the bill immediately, i only received the bill 15mins later. the only time i saw quick service was when the waiter bought the bill to us. upon reviewing the bill, my wife places her card on the table, only to be informed that it is cash only.

i was at the point of just laughing, as who carry's cash now days. most transactions are done via electronic payments. to top things off, there was no signs nor notice explaining this, just a surprise. lucky for them we emptied out of wallets and managed to pay the amount.

i must say the atmosphere of the place is beautiful, but the food, drinks, service and management are completely out of there comfort zone and needs A LOT of training. i dont blame the waiter for the cold food, but the kitchen instead, as there should be a notification system informing the waiters that food is ready. then the drinks, if you going to make homemade drinks, such as lemonade, milkshakes etc.. at least put some effort in to make is tasteful. but my tipping point was the breakfast, if you cannot get a simple breakfast right then rather shut your doors or at least pay more attention to the complaining customer.

this is a real embarrassment to the food industry and should really consider closing your doors.

regards
