INVALID COC AND FAILURE TO PAY DAMAGES

Being the transferring attorneys on a matter in the Mbombela area, we have received an Electrical Compliance Certificate (ECC) from Mr K Smit, a registered electrician. After registration it came to light that the ECC is invalid and that the current wiring in the property was a fire hazard and endangered the lives of the occupants of the property.Notwithstanding numerous undertakings Mr Smit failed and or refused to repair the wiring and issue a valid ECC. The owner also had to pay another electrician to attend to the repairs, and which costs Mr Smit refuse and or fails to pay to the owner.

I would not recommend any one, especially conveyancers and property practitioners to appoint Mr Smit to assess the electrical works on a property and to issue an ECC. The services delivered are below standard, Mr Smit is unreliable and he has shown that he has very little integrity when it comes to keeping to his word.
