Top shelf price with no heads up
I love Kloof Street house and whenever I have foreign visitors I always take them for at least one dinner there. However I was very disappointed on Friday evening. I came there with a friend for a drink after we had a dinner somewhere else. I didnt look at the menu but ordered a Spicy Margarita. I have ordered this many time at many different restaurants but when the bill came that 1 ****tail was R355! When I asked why the waitress said its because they used Patrone tequila, and its the only tequila they have. I paid it cause what else to do, however if someone orders a standard drink like that and you as the waitress know its an expensive drink because you only have 1 tequila (which I do find quite hard to believe) I really do feel that it should be mentioned. R355 for 1 drink is a meal for 2 people, I felt so bad paying that for 1 drink. So please train your staff to advise your guests of these kind of things. It left me with a bitter taste at the end of a great evening.
