Poor service from KLM Cooling
I rated KLM Cooling with five stars just over a year ago, but little did I know that because of their poor workmanship, my aircon has been leaking gas and when the summer arrived it was not cooling. They reached out to me to ask whether I would like the unit serviced. I agreed and it lead to a R 1400 bill for fixing their leak and they charge R895 for re-gassing while two other vendors in the area charge R450. When I raised it with them, I was met with a weird email about how two IT staff members can earn different salaries when doing the same job. Best one stays away from KLM Cooling in future.

22 Dec 2021, 16:40KLM Cooling, (www.klmcooling.co.za) a mom-and-pop shop have now responded with a belligerent email: "I think you are pathetic and a bully to write a review on Hello Peter... We don't have to justify our pricing to you just like any other business out there. I made the reference of IT staff salaries so you can understand the concept of it being the employer/ supplier in this case's choice as to what they charge, but clearly the concept went straight over your head. I do not expect long winded emails simply a proof of payment or your total refusal to pay".
This was then followed by sarcastic WhatsApp messages about writing a "great review". Following which I was blocked.
I think it is relevant to say that I purchased 6 x aircon units from this company for my home a little over a year ago. Well there you have it folks, you decide who is right or wrong and whether you would like to work with this company.

You have not however given me a reason why you charge double of others in the same market. Your analogy of IT people’s earning does not fit this situation. If two people are doing exactly the same service for a customer, one is able to compare the costs. You appear to be charging double simply because you can. I don’t follow why you are perplexed. Your own son said that the flange nut was overtightened causing the crack and now I am paying for the poor workmanship and to add insult to injury, you are charging me R 895 for what other vendors charge R450 for.

02 Feb 2024, 13:45I would like to update this complaint with what has happened to this aircon unit in Dec 2023. The aircon unit started to trip the earth leakage breaker on my distribution board. I called Jet-Air SA and asked them to recommend an authorised installer to come and assess the unit. It turns out that the compressor had packed up. I ordered a new one from Jet-Air and I am awaiting this delivery and install. The verdict is that the aircon compressor suffered because of running on low gas. I am still paying for KLM Cooling's poor workmanship, even though I paid them to service, refill and repair the leak. The cost of the compressor and installation is under R4000, thank you Jet-Air and your installer for your assistance.
