Turtle Light ups

i mainly shop at the Pietermaritzburg store. i usually have a pleasant shopping experience. my recent telephonic enquiry, on Monday (06/05) has left me thinking otherwise about whether i should continue shopping with this outlet. in December 2023 i purchased a pair of Turtle lights up for my 8 year old. the shoe cost R 429.00. this shoe was a reward to my child as part of behavioral and educational achievements. by the end of january 2024, one shoe from the pair stopped working. i did bring the issue up to Kingsmead attention and was assisted where the shoe was exchanged. the shoe was exchanged in the 1st week of February 24. on the 1st of May 2024, i noticed that one shoe from her pair was not working. i contacted the store and indicated the problem, the guy, Siphamandla who answered the call - remembered that i had been in to exchange the previous pair. i asked to speak to the store manager - i was on hold for a minute and then informed by Siphamandla that the store manager would consult the area manager and get back to me before the end of business. Ten minutes later Siphamandla call me and indicates that the store manager contacted the area manager and he is advising me that they cannot do anything as there is no guarantee on the light ups. i should have been informed about this when i initially purchased the shoe, not at this point when i have a second defective pair. my whole reason for bringing this to their attention is because - the shoe is not worn daily and it has not lasted for more than 3 months and this is the second time i am experiencing this. i paid R 429.00 for the shoe - in this day and age it is an expensive shoe and its not fully functional. but most of all i have an 8 year old who is currently feeling that she did not deserve the shoes that is why it is not working. i am utterly disappointed in the way the store manager has treated me in this regard - she/he was so busy to even contact me personally. i shop often at Kingsmead and i am now reconsidering shopping there
