King of Cars ******
we bought a car from them a year and a half ago. The first one was delivered with smooth tyres and head lights not working and onboard navigation was broken, which means no roadworthy was done, which they later admitted to and blamed it on us for being in a rush. They refused to fix the issues . They offered to buy us a TomTom and for us to ignore the problem. When we declined they offered to pay us R10000. We declined again. they then told us to find a new car. The second car was delivered BY THE OWNER PERSONALLY with a broken headlight and chipped windscreen and a knocking sound. Once repaired, the clutch cable snapped. Gys Pitzer ( where they origionally bought the vehicle ) offered to replace the clutch as the mechanic had said it had been incorrectly installed at Mahindra. King of Cars gave us a loan vehicle which we appreciated. It took 6 weeks to get our vehicle back. when we got it back, we had the following problems:
car sounds like tractor engine light comes on and car wont start vehicle computer thinks car is constantly in neutral so cruise control wont work either. break errors kept popping up knocking sound PDC screams STOP
We were eventually told by the origional mechanic that Gys Pitzer and King of Cars authorised them to weld the flywheel and modify it to work differently to the factory specs and replaced the clutch with a second hand unit. These were causing the horrible sounds in the engine. They also informed us that Gys Pitzer chopped all of our wires and did not replace them, they just did a sloppy job of reattaching them which was causing the flashing errors.
We were told by King of Cars that they will redo the wiring and replace the entire clutch system.
The owner and Manager apparently both drove our car over night and reported that the car was in perfect working condition and all issues were resolved. When we drove off with the car, most of the errors appeared within 2km of their dealership.
we were told again that it is not possible and we must just take the car to a Mahindra.
After an entire year of backwards and forwards of them saying the errors are repaired .. they are still present.
we are now being told that they will not assist us because we have not stuck to our warranty conditions.
our warranty is there for OUR benefit. not for them to save money on repairs of errors present from the beginning.
the amount of times this car wouldnt start when we are trying to rush our terminally ill son to hospital.
we are now sitting with a car that still regularly wont start when the engine light comes on, the car still always thinks its in neutral , the onboard navigation stopped working and the PDC still screams STOP everytime we try to reverse.
and they are refusing to help us because they have spent so much money on the car and are working on a loss.
