Hi my name is Beverley Roestorff. In May of 2020. I started getting major headaches in my left temple region,very bad burning sensation into my brain. Eventually for four days straight the pain never went. I had a bad asthma attack think due to stress of headaches. Was rushed to King Edward hospital, obviously due to breathing problems was sent straight to covid ward. That test came back negative was placed in a normal ward but was given no treatment. I felt as though they thought it was due to my biopolar mood disorder they left me to lie there in chronic pain for nearly a week, after much crying to my family my sister called the hospital threatening them with the media. They finally gave me pain meds and I had a CT scan which showed a mass in the sphenoid sinus. I was discharged and given a date for about one month later at ent. I eventually had to go back crying I couldn't take the pain. I was readmitted after complaining of double vision. I ended up having two strokes had complete blindness in the left eye. My family took me to a private GP he stated I was deteriating very fast. The hospital continued to make me feel it's my bipolar condition. They eventually operated at Albert Letuli. All my symptoms came back with total blindness in left eye. ENT said it's nothing to do with them and sent me to opthalmology that Dr asked if this was your mom would you see her here or leave her by me. She told him to sort it out her job is done. He booked me for an urgent scan where they discovered the fungus was still causing my proplems. They had me on amphtrimicin for 17 days. I overheard Dr Quinn tell that fungus is still sitting behind the bone. Everytime they started the drip I said please I'm having bad chest pains, Dr would say she coming to look but would walk away from me. They have had me on voriconozol since August. With all this I was getting worse chest pain and can hardly walk from bath to lounge I went back to King Edward they did an echocardiogram and bloods which showed I had a heart attack,I was at no stage feeling better so my family took me to etekweni heart hospital. He told me they are over dosing me oh and I have chronic kidney failure. A Dr at king Edward said I'm having anxiety. I really hope u can assist me. Kindest regards Beverley Roestorff
