Wrongful advice obtain from legal service providr

HeloPeter, I am in need of legal advice. I was wrongfully informed by my debt counsellor to cancel my cover plus facility with Wesbank so that their lawyers could be able to finalised their application with the courts for me to be placed on debt review. They claimed I had two cover plus facilities (with AA and Wesbank), They told me to cancel either of the two. I sent them my AA insurance policy for confirmation of this, but they still claimed I had one with them. I decided to cancelled the one I was certain to have with Wesbank and remain with the one they told me I had with AA. Please note that at this point I did not understand what cover plus was and my debt counsellor was the only one who could explain it to me trusting her integrity and professionalism in understanding the business jargon. Now recently I was involved in a car accident and the car was written off. The insurance AA says they will only cover for the cost of the vehicle and I will have to pay the shortfall myself (which the coverplus would have cover). I am in this predicament because of the ill advice from my debt counsellor. I don't have anywhere to turn to nor the money to pay for the shortfall please advice.
