Ridiculously hi priced parts.

I bought a KIC set 4plate hob, oven and extactor fan in 2015. Now 12 years later , the regulator switches is broken. I then contracted KIC replacement parts department for a price . The quote me R1438.28 Excl Vat and delivery . I bought a new hob for R1500.00 . My question is WHY KIC WHY THAT ridiculous price for a switch only.
