Poor Service & Customer Care

I am stuck with my KIC Fridge that has a damaged freezer rubber (sealer) and i am told by KIC and its "so called reputable" and preferred service providers that i should strip the rubber off my fridge and take it to them for measurement then wait for a replacement from them (which could be anything up to a week) In the meantime, what happens to my food in the freezer? Has anybody ever experienced such shoddiness as I am exposed to here?
