KIC no longer worthy to called a House hold brand

I'm very concerned that brands such as KIC has dropped thier level of quality. The extent is too much to mention. But a long story short. I bought a KIC fridge a year ago and guess what..it's run out of gas because of a leak. Who should be held liable and what are my consumer rights?
