Shocking advertising

WARNING! BUFFET FALSE ADVERTISING!

We went to the Trout and Mallard for the Christmas Buffet. The menu read the follwing: A variety of gammon, turkey, chicken, steak, pork, salad, vegetable bites, seafood, pasta, pizza's, cheeseboards and home made breads.

The price was: R380 per person

A number of things where missing but the most prominent to me was that there was NO STEAK, NO SEAFOOD AND NO PIZZA.

After asking why it wasn't there, one of the female managers working there (who was very friendly) tried to accommodate me. They made one pizza and brought it to the buffet table. But the reality is, one pizza isn't enough for a whole restaurant and most of the food was similar to cold meats you would buy from checkers or the likes. They had beef there but it was more like a roast which was sliced thinly and not individually cooked steak.

Our family primarily decided to have Christmas dinner there for the steak, pizza and seafood, which there was basically nothing of.

After eating and bringing it to their attention multiple times, we decided to leave. I went to speak to the owner about this issue that key items where missing and he simply said "I did a lot of effort for today" and he simply refused to amend the price of R380, which was the least he could have done for spoiling our family gathering.

If this wasn't Christmas lunch, we would have just left at the start. The problems is most other places would have been fully booked and we had no option but to have what they had on display.

Really disappointed in the owners approach to this. This is blatant false advertising and we will unfortunately not ever support or reference this place again.
