worst service ever

i have been a KIA owner for the last 9 years or so. my first kia was a 2005 kia sorento which i drove for 6.5 years with no issue.

january 2015 i traded my old sorento in for a newer model. we were so excited to have this car until early last month when the **** started.

my wife was complaining about a noise coming from the suspension when going over speed bumps.

i took the car to supaquick in order to check the shocks. i was told that the rear rigfht shock is worn and needs to be replaced.

when i purchaced the car, i went to KIA Sandton and requested to extend my warranty. i was given a quote which i accepted. i asked what the extended plan covers, and was told that since my car was still under warranty that the new plan is simply an extention of the original so it would cover the exact same things.

back to the shocks.

i took my car to kia edenvale to have the battery, shocks and center brake light replaced.

it took 6 days to get a battery and i was left without a car. if i didnt call everytime to enquire about my car, NO body bothered to call.

they then after a whole week tell me that i dont have a warranty, that my plan expired. i showed them proof of payment and 3 days later was told that they found my paper work and that it was not captured (a whole year later)

i was then told that it would cost me in excess of R30,000 to replace 2 rear shocks and the brake light.

i asked why do i have to pay for it i have a warranty, and they just say that my plan doesnt cover shocks and brake lights (LED's)

i then went back to KIA Sandton to check why i was told that it is the exact same cover and was met with attitude. i was told that "our staff would never say that" so its their word against mine.

at the same time i explain to the service manager that my wife drives this car with my 3 little kids in it and that shocks are a sefety part of a vehicle and that it is rediculuos that they expect people to pay so much just for shocks (R14833 each excl labour) to which he replies "if i were you i would leave it."

i went back to supaquick which btw has amazing service ( supaquick fishers hill and BRUMA) and have both rear shocks replaced for R3500 inclusive of vat and labour.

that is about 10% of the cost at KIA.

They feel that they can just rip people off of their hard earned money and just get away with it. why???

because us south africans have this attitude of "lets not get confrontational"

i dont have that attitude.

i posted a comment on the KIA MOTORS SA facebook page about the matter, to which they rep**** with a request that i email them my details and they would contact me ASAP.

it has been over a month and no contact from KIA.

i left my cell number my wifes number home number and work number to leave no excuse for not getting hold of me at any hour of day or night.

But guess what??? no one calls. even after i re emailed them a few times.

i just want people to be aware of the way KIA MOTORS SA and de*****ing customers out of our hard earned money with their bull**** "warranty"

dont get me wrong. i love the car, but because of the **** (put lightly) service, i will be selling my car and buying another brand.

who ever is thinking of buying a KIA please DON'T

there are other cars just as nice but with better after sales service.
