WARRANTEE NOT PAYING FOR A CLUTCH ON KIA PICANTO
I would like to start off with the fact that this is my second KIA Picanto that I have bought brand new, and my partner also bought his KIA RIO new, we love the brand.
We have received outstanding service from KIA Randfontein.
I am however very disappointed in KIA South Africa.
I drove my first Picanto for almost 3 years with out any issues, and no parts that needed to be replaced, it just went for its services.
I traded in my first Picanto for a new one in October 2015
After a while my car started making this noise, they didn't pick it up with the first service, so I took the car back again for them to hear the noise (KIA Weltevredenpark)
They found the problem with the clutch and replaced it under warrantee on the 12th of August 2016 before the car was even a year old , A year later and once again this funny sound with the clutch I took it back as there was a warranty on the new clutch. I haven't even done 20 000 km since the replacement and I took it back on the 14th of August since the 12th was on a Saturday, so this was the first excuse for KIA South Africa.
KIA South Africa has looked for every reason not to replace the parts under warrantee.
I don't know much about the Technical details about a car, and my partner has been dealing with KIA Randfontein up until now, but what I do understand is that the clutch was replaced the first time around with out any issues, and now this time KIA refuses to replace the clutch under warrantee. which makes no sense to me as it is the same problem again and yet again the same noise.
When we took my Car to KIA Weltevreden Park, one of the personnel informed us that they have noticed that one in every 1000 Picanto's is having this issue with the clutch.
My car has since then been taken to KIA Randfontein as they seem to be more efficient and better customer service.
It has now been 4 four weeks in total that my clutch has not been replaced, with this back and forth correspondence between KIA Randfontein and whoever is suppose to approve the clutch.
I have been inconvenienced for 3 weeks being without a car.
Its only this week that I have been driving with a courtesy car KIA Randfontein has assisted me with.
I have also tried to contact the customer care line where I have to wait 15minutes for my call to be answered, only to be told that I need to contact the Warrantee department. I called the Warrantee department and they told me that I needed to contact Customer Care,
I am very unhappy with the treatment that we have received this far as a loyal KIA Customer
