Refusal to honour Service contract under Lockdown
In 2020 October I called Kia Roodepoort to book my car for it's 60 000km service. I took my car in and left for work. About 10 o'clock I was called and ask who is going to pay for my service. I told them that it is my 60 000km service and is part of my service plan. I was then told that my 3 years expired on the 24th of June 2020 and therefor I need to pay for the service myself. Firstly I could not take my car to them as we were in lockdown and the service centre was closed. Then because of the lockdown I never drove my car and only had about 54 000km on the clock. This was not my fault that we were in lockdown and I feel that they should help all their customers by extending their service plans. After telling the service advisor that I do not have money I was told to come and remove my car from their premises. I ask them if i could fetch the car after 5 as I was working and was rudely told that the service department only work until 5 o'clock. I can come and fetch the car the following morning. I tried to explain to the lady that I can't as I need the car and she just kept telling me to make a plan then. I am very angry cause firstly no one ask for the lockdown and all we us human beings ask is some courtesy on their side. Then to top this after 3 weeks Kia Northcliff calls me and tells me that my service plan has expired and would I like to take out an extended warranty. Why wasn't I called before my warranty expired? "Because of the lockdown they will tell you - well why didn't I took the car in - because of the lockdown. I really feel cheated as this service was part of my contract and I am paying my car every month. The service I received from Kia Roodepoort was the worse ever and I will never advice anyone to buy a Kia:( This is completely unfair and an unacceptable reap off
