No movement in Kia South Africa's customer service/care centre

3 months, this is the time it takes for parts to be delivered at the service provider who needs to fix my vehicle. I am starting first with all the communication on the ETA for the parts that have been ordered. There after I will write about my experience with Kia Customer Care. For a company like Kia this is unacceptable, how is it possible for parts to take this long to be delivered? This starts all in the beginning of October 2023. My vehicle was sent to MCR Trichardt for repairs. Where I did receive a courtesy vehicle from my insurance company for 30 days. There after I had to plan and asked to be able to get to work and home. MCR send me confirmation that they have received authorization for repairs on 12 October 2023. They have a WhatsApp number where they are constantly giving feedback every Tuesday and Thursday on the status of the repair of your vehicle. They have placed the order with Motus Group Vereeniging that is a Kia dealer. From here everything just went downhill from Kia’s side. The first communication after MCR placed the order was on 1 November 2023. Where Motus Group informed them that the parts are on back order and the ETA should be 13 November 2023. On 14 November 2023 Motus Group informed MCR that according to Kia Head office the ETA have been moved to 25 November 2023. On the 27 November 2023 Motus Group informed MCR that the ETA have now been moved to 5 December 2023. On the 4 December 2023 Motus Group send the following information to MCR: “PDC cannot give us and ETA date on this part as yet as we are waiting for clearance from the Durban Ports.” Now we are heading into the 2024 and I am still without a vehicle for the total of 3 months. Fist communication from Motus Group regarding the parts is on the 4 January 2024 where they indicate that the ETA will now be 24 January 2023. With all this said the following happened when I contact Kia Customer Care South Africa on the 15 November 2023 where they did not respond. On the 17 November 2023 I have send a follow up mail. They responded on the same day with the following enquiry on my vehicle’s vin nr, odometer reading and registration number. I have rep**** immediately on their enquiry. With no feedback on my questions. On 21 November 2023 I have yet send again a follow-up mail on my first enquiry. There after I received a phone call from a dealership in Louis Trichardt, where I have explained my concern and enquiry to them, with the question in mind on why they are calling me. Where after they send me a mail to explain that the order was not done by them but the Motus group in Vereeniging. I phoned Kia South Africa Head office the same day and the person put me through to Customer Care again, when they answer, and I start to explain my concern/issue she just put the phone down – without one word. I found another number where the receptionist took my details and said they will get back to me. This was now a week after my initial mail. They rep**** with an apology with the late response and that it has been escalated to the parts and procurement department where they also indicated that they are sourcing alternatives to get the part from other suppliers. They will give me feedback at 9am the next day. This is when, after a week I received a case number (a week after the first mail). On 22 November 2023 I send again a follow-up mail, the rep**** again with an apology (that at this stage does not mean anything to me) and indicate that they are still waiting for a response from the suppliers. They also said they have prioritized the matter and will give me feedback by EOB the next day. On the 27 November 2023 yet again a follow up mail was sent from my side. They rep**** that parts management has escalated with the manufacturer and has not have an ETA yet. They will give feedback the next morning. On 6 December 2023 I received a mail from them that the ETA will now be on the 18 December 2023. Well by now this did not happen yet again, and from there all the places have been closed. This put me in the position to cancel all my December commitments to spend the festive season with family. With customer care like this I wonder if the CEO of Kia South Africa is aware on the type of serves, we as consumers are getting from them. To be honest the vehicle is great, but the service that we receive from the people at Kia South Africa are questionable, for if this is the serves that you get from a well know vehicle brand, then you need to think twice before buying. Kia’s Brand Slogans means the following to me as a customer. Movement that inspires – there a no movement at their customer care center for after care. The power to surprise – You gets a surprise when your vehicle needs parts, and it takes 3 months. Is this the service that the people in South Korea also receive?
