KIA SELLING DUD CARS!!! DISGUSTING, INEFFICIENT, APPALLING SERVICE FROM KIA. TOTALLY USELESS. NEVER BUY KIA!!!!

I purchased a Kia Rio 1.4 on the 20th June 2014 at Kia Motors Somerset West. The first problem with Kia was November 2014. Boiling sounds in the engine. I was told it was Coolant Level……Never….? December 2014 it continued with boiling noise…. January 2015 was told to wait until the first service. At first service they were informed again. This time they said the Radiator Cap was the problem. When I collected the car and asked them if they had fitted a new Radiator Cap…… Oh dear…… they forgot to do it when serviced!!! Boiling noise continued …… Engine seemed to be overheating but temp gauge stayed normal. Had second service done in June/July. Once again they were informed of the boiling and over heating. Car sent to Silverton Radiators for pressure “Dye” used test leaks. Nothing wrong. I was informed by Workshop Manager Mr. Richard Haskins, that the fan was not coming on….. causing engine to overheat. Fan fixed…..STILL BOILING . Car returned to Kia. Engine was stripped found that the cylinder head gasket had blown, which was causing overheating……….car there for 3 WEEKS. Received car back………STILL BOILING. Sent to KIA again. Engine stripped for the 2ndtime. !!! Was informed by Mr. Haskins that the Piston sleeves were Oval with round Pistons (can you believe it, Wonder what shape rings were) and had to be replaced. Never heard of that in my life. Kia had the car for another 3 weeks . Sub assembly sent from Johannesburg. Car back after ANOTHER 3 weeks. STILL BOILING SOUND!! Workshop Manager, Mr Haskins, decided he would accompany me on a test drive. Had test drive…….boiling sound still there!!! He said that it was the air conditioner now. Car went in for a couple days. Was told the Aircon unit was blocked with Black Algae and had now been cleared. . Mr Haskins said they were now considering putting a Fungi in the Aircon to stop the problem. Car was returned to me….Drove home……STILL BOILING SOUND! Mr. Haskins said it must be the Aircon Unit that needs replacing BUT I would have to wait 28 days for the unit to come from Korea!!! I refused to drive the car as it was, so another vehicle was given to me until mine is fixed. I think I have tolerated this inefficiency for too long. Mr Haskins said he knew of 7 other Kia’s with the same problem.

I got my car back yesterday and GUESS WHAT!!!! Still BOILING NOISE. !!!! I have never in my life have had to put up with such inefficiency . If they had sorted out the problem when I first brought it to their attention, it would never have got to this stage. It is NOW TWO AND HALF YEARS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR now will have to be stuck with a car that has already had TWO ENGINE OVERHAULS. As I am nearly 70 years old I had thought that this would be my last car purchase. Obviously Not. I DERSEVE A NEW VEHICLE . The value of the car will have dropped beyond normal. Have not been able to go to Durban to see our grandchildren because of fear of an unreliable car!. At all times I have remained as patient as possible and trusted that they would have fixed the car properly. In short I would like to say, it has gone from Coolant Level, to Radiator cap gasket, to a faulty fan, to a blown Cylinder head Gasket, to round pistons in an oval block to blocked aircon to faulty aircon unit. They have had the car for the various problems for over 11 WEEKS in total at different times which is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!!! I WANT A NEW VEHICLE!!!!
