KIA MOTORS SA - ******* AFTER SALES SERVICE
I bought a Kia Sportage in 2024 because I genuinely liked the look of the new model. After driving over 40,000 km, which is not a lot for the time that I have it, I can honestly say the vehicle itself isn't the biggest problem. The absolute disaster is Kia's after-sales service.
Within a relatively short period, I had catalytic converter issues (crazy at 40 000km) and had to return the vehicle twice. On one occasion, they kept my car for three days and couldn't even provide a courtesy vehicle for one of the three days. That's unacceptable when you're paying good money for a brand new car.
The fan and air-conditioning control panel also developed problems, after they did a software update by the way... I was promised a callback and update the very next day by both the Service Manager, Workshop Manager and Technical Manager. Instead, I waited three weeks. Three weeks. Not a day, not a couple of days—three weeks of silence and having to call them for answers.
What's even more frustrating is that the people carrying these management titles seem completely disconnected from basic customer service. Promises are made, then ignored. Communication is non-existent. Accountability is nowhere to be found.
The Sportage itself is actually not a terrible vehicle, which makes this experience even more disappointing. But if anything goes wrong, prepare yourself for frustration, delays, excuses, and poor support. Its always having to contact "technical" whoever "technical" is...no decision making capacity at the dealership. Title and no authority!!!
This was my first Kia purchase and it will absolutely be my last. I would strongly advise anyone considering a Kia—new or used—to think very carefully before handing over their money. A car is only as good as the support behind it, and my experience with Kia's after-sales service has been nothing short of disgraceful.
