Frustrating car buying experience at Kia motors somerset west
I recently bought a vehicle from kia motors somerset west. It was a 2018 huyndai grand i10 1.0 motion. Our sales experience started quite nicely, however throughout the sales experience we had headaches and issues that krept up. On Saturday the sales man Priyeshan advised us that all of their vehicles are sold under kia Konfidance and it woukd be valet cleaned, dekra report would be provided and all issues that krept up would be sorted before the vehicle is sold.
The deal was concluded and the finance lady said we can sign on Thursday. After that I then asked whether the vehicle would be ready by then and she said yes it would. I then sent an email to Priyeshan to ask him if it would be ready and he did not reply to my email. My husband had to phone the next day to ask if it would be ready whereby he only said yes. This limited communication was highly irritating. We had asked him to whatsapp us on Saturday already just to make communication easy, but this never happened hence communication was poor.
Upon taking delivery of the vehicle the car was not valet cleaned which is one of the items that needed to be done as part of the service and delivery fee. The vehicle had an oil leak and a few other issues which was only discoverd by us after going over the kia 101 point check. The sales man Priyeshan wanted us to take delivery of the vehicle with this oil leak stating that huyndai serviced the vehicle before delivery and they found no leaks. We got into an argument and moved to the sales managers (Charl) office. He made comments about how we have pressed him on every part of the deal and he has been accommodating towards us, which is true but this has just been part of the negotiations process. He made comments like he will s**** the deal and get the car ready for the next customer which infuriated the situation. We also overheard a conversation with one of his colleagues that led that if "they want a new car they should buy one and not a second hand car".
The sales manager managed to calm us down and assured us that all of the issues noted in the report would be sorted out. He provided us with a temporary vehicle to use in the mean time and got all of the issues sorted out.
We took delivery two days later with all of the issues sorted and a highly stressful buying process was finally completed. However On delivery the vehicle was still not valet cleaned but we accepted it non the less.
We still haven't received the dekra report for the vehicle and this was also part of the service and delivery requirements.
To end off the experience at Kia somerset west has been quite stressful and not pleasant at all. My Son referred us to the dealership after seeing the vehicle online hence we went there. We will however not be doing any business with the dealership in future as we would like to avoid an experience like this again.
We would however like to thank the sales manager Mr Charl for accommodating us throughout and always looking after us when problems came up and handling the situations with the upmost professionalism.
